mirror configuration on new modem
Hi, I wish to connect two PCs to our broadband provider, but we only got one modem. I don`t want to set up a network with a hub, as we got the cable installed in both rooms, so it sounds silly to stretch another one. What I was thinking was that I could buy another cable modem and then dump the configuration of the modem I got onto the new modem. This way I got two modems that are alike, that uses one of the 3 dynamic IPs that has been provided to me.
So do you think this will work? mirroring the configuration including the MAC address? Thanks! Haakon |

Ok, thanks!
I guess I`ll have to drag some extra cables through the appartment. I think wireless would be too hard to keep secure (for me), because we live in a appartment..... or am I wrong? Thanks, Haakon |
