98 SE wont shut down even with patch installed
like someone else said in this forum, my computer wont shut down, forcing me to pull the plug. i heard about this patch and installed it, but it didnt work. any ides on what i should do????

Hi i had the same problem , but i havent tried downloading the patch yet. The microsoft site has a troubleshooter which guides u through what other stuff could be wrong with the computer,which may cause it not to shut down correctly. Try it out
 the site is web pagei hope it helps because i'm trying it now

Use ctrl/alt/delete & shut all programs down except explorer and system tray... Then try to shut your computer down.. See what happens...Real player is one program thats bad about not letting you shut down but there are others... Let us know what you find out...Good luck
