i have no CD ROM can i install windows 98 SE from a floppy? this puter got a virus that deleted files from DOS i made a boot disk from another puter running windows 98SE followed directions step by step boot without cd rom fdisk... deleted partitions...volume lable none...confired deletion...at main fdisk chose 4 to view partition info to varify...then back to fdisk option 1 to create primary partition...primary DOS partition...maximum size yes....rebooted but then it ask to boot with cd rom i cant it dont work what do i do from there...PLEASE HELP ME...is there a way to install windows without cd rom? thanks kay
oh yes i saw it do format then after that i am supposed to C:\> win98 ...then copyD:\win98\*.*C:\win98 ...i get abort, retry, fail

If this computer is not a laptop, the easiest way would be to get a CD-ROM drive for it. The next easiest way would be to remove the hard drive and connect it to a computer with a CD-ROM drive. You can then copy the installation files from the CD to the hard drive. Then put the hard drive back in the original PC and install Windows.
