I just received a laptop that's win 2k professional.
The person got a bootup message that a system file was corrupt ( \winnt\system32\config\system )....
The person had somone run a repair install which worked ok. I could see the file to get the backup.
Today I boot it up and I get this message:
A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl alt del to restart.
Is the drive toast? Shoooooooooooooooot!!!!!
