I seem to have boot up problems with my lap top.

I have win2000 installed and it seems to have crashed.

I tried running the emergency repair disk program but that did not seem to work.

I do not have a floppy drive on my lap topso I copied the program from the floppy to a CD.

Could I copy the boot up disks on to seperate CD's and run them ?

What exactly is Windows doing? How far does the boot up process get (if at all) before it stops responding?

The system starts to boot up. Then a window appears which says "Preparing network connections" and then it freezes up.

First, have you recently installed new software/hardware/drivers? If so, try booting up in safe mode and uninstalling the newly added software/hardware/drivers. It sounds like there is a conflict with the W2K and software. It is also a possibility that you have a corrupted file in your boot sector--try running a virus scan.
