I am getting a message asking to put in the "system disk" into drive upon boot up. On another message board, someone told me to go to "bootdisk.com" and load that up. I have done this and nothing has changed. I am not too computer literate and could use some help please!!
Thanks |

Hi! Welcome o CTH
No bootdisk.com will not help. "bootdisk.com" and load that up. I have done this and nothing has changed. " exactly what did you do???? When you boot the computer is there a Floppy Disk in the Floppy Drive? If so remove it and boot. Exactly what happens when the message comes up asking for a system disk? Is it on a black screen with the curser flashing??? Is it at the C:\> prompt????

actually now I am getting 2 messages saying one says it "bypassed the startup disk" and I get the "a:>/" prompt with a black screen. The original Windows 98 screen comes up at first, then sounds like hard drive runs, skips.........for a while, then comes up with that above message about skipping startup???
The other message says "Insert system disk in drive, press any key to continue". It has a blask screen background. Been told it might be serious problem.......but I have no clue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
