hi! recently i've tried to get onto my radio station guide that i have under favorites but when i click on it an error message appears. it says "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an asociation in my computer by clicking view and then clicking folder options." However, when i do that, i don't know what to do. can someone please help me? i've noticed the same problem when i log onto my yahoo messenger and try to access my yahoo profile thru that.

You are supposed the go to the "File Types" Tab if you know what type of file it is. If you don't please post the link to the radio guide and we will find out.

Hi honeyangel8 - I'm sorry, it seems that your question was overlooked. :(
A couple of things that you can try. First, check that IE is your default browser. Go to Start > Settings, and then click on Control Panel. Doubleclick Internet, and then click the Programs tab. Put a check where it says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" check box, and then click OK.
If that doesnt help, open My Computer and go to View > Folder Options and click on the File Types tab. Scroll down until you see Internet Shortcuts. Select it and click on Edit. Select "Open" and click on edit again. Where it says Application used to perform this action, it should read:
rundll32.exe shdocvw.dll,OpenURL %l
If it is any different, copy and paste the above into the box and click OK, OK etc and try again. Let us know if this helps.

hi Ann Marie. thanks for replying to this. i have tried the two things.the "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" thing was not checked when i looked at it so i went ahead and checked it but afterward my stuff still did not work. i also went to the internet shortcuts tab and the application did already have exactly the same thing u had posted. :(

Hi again honeyangel8 - its possible that your Favorites Folder could have corrupted. Can you view the links via Windows Explorer? If so, save them to a new folder on your drive and rename your Favorites Folder.
To do this, reboot your computer and tap the F8 key on the keyboard as your computer restarts.
Choose Safe Mode Command Prompt from the Startup Menu and at the C prompt (C:\>)
type cd windows and press the Enter key.
You should see C:\Windows>
type ren favori~1 oldfav and press the Enter key
Now restart your computer and copy the links that you saved back into your newly created Favorites Folder.
