I have recentlly installed a dual boot of mandreake and xp. When I boot to mandrake I recieve the following error "fsck.ext3: bad magic number in the supper-block while trying to open /dev/hda9......failed to check file system do U want to repair may cause lose of data" I said yes and I am told there is another error and that I should run something thing to open something else. I am new so I know nothing and I would be grateful for any help thx

Hi integer.
Have a little patience please, 3 hours may seem like a bit of a wait when some questions are answered in 5 minutes but sometimes the people who know the answers are not on the boards at the same time as you are.
hda9??
you have 2 O/S and are up to 10th partition.
I assume from this you have partitioned multiple partitions for various Mandrake mount points.
Can you tell us what you mounted on hda9. (i.e. /usr or /home or something?)
I should run something thing to open something else
So run something. :D Seriously, you need to note the exact message to enable us to know what's going on.
