I downloaded a video from KaZaa and it is an MPEG file. None of my players will show the video...only audio. The video on avi files works great. I'm new at this and I don't quite know what to do....
A friend told me I probably didn't have the right driver for it... ok, but I don't know what the right driver is. HELP!!

Hi kuzzz,
I normally don't use kazaa today for the same reason you posted this message here. Sometimes, Mpeg-1 files get mixed with other files you download in your shared folder.
In fact, you should be sure IT IS an Mpeg-1 video file you're having problems with. Mp3 files are also based on the mpeg-1 format but it's audio only. Therefore, sometimes, partly downloaded files overwrite the audio of other files. eg you could have a nice mpeg file bearing the audio of a downloaded mp3 file in that same directory.
Avi files normally don't get damaged so easily... their audio and video codecs are different (those so-called divx codecs which are all based on higher mpeg capabilities).
So, I think you could try removing a few audio files from time to time. Try redownloading the file if possible and check whether it works.
By the way, most mpeg files on kazaa are corrupt once you have them on your HD. maybe somebody can help you with this.
Good luck!:)
