Question pop-up security warning

Hi, I have a pop-up security warning , that comes on screen up to 20 times a day,It asks if I want to install and run, a time/date program, its from the Gator Corporation, I do not want to install so the only other option it gives me, is to cancel, Can you plese tell me out to get this program out of my system, or at least store it away some where it can not pop out from, Thanx Diana

Hi solardust, Let's have a look, Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.spywareinfo.com/files/hijackthis.zip
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, click "Save Log", and copy and paste it in a reply.

Hi Diana....do you have Adaware installed....or spybot?
If not you can download them from the homepage on this site.
Between the two of them they should sort out your problem.
Make sure you update them as soon as installed before running for the first time.
I tend to find that one finds problems the other one doesn't, so run the two.

In Hijack This, check ALL of the following items. Doublecheck so as to be sure not to miss one.
Next, close all browser Windows, and have HT fix all checked.

You NEED to restart your computer when you're done.

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [stcloader] C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\stcloader.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [VBouncerDL] C:\Program Files\VBouncer\VBouncerInner1123030507.exe /S
O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug (HKCU)
O15 - Trusted Zone: http://free.aol.com
O16 - DPF: {D45FD31B-5C6E-11D1-9EC1-00C04FD7081F} - http://www.talkingbuddy.com/talkingbuddyinstall.exe
O16 - DPF: {13197ACE-6851-45C3-A7FF-C281324D5489} - http://www.2nd-thought.com/files/install.exe
O16 - DPF: {D9EC0A76-03BF-11D4-A509-0090270F86E3} - http://cdn1.adsdk.com/bannerfarm/42...r1123030507.exe

After rebooting, delete the following:

stcloader.exe
C:\Program Files\VBouncer folder

Then download and run Spybot-S&D.

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy from here
http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html

After installing, launch Spybot from the Desktop Icon (Easy Mode),click on the Search For Updates button, search for and install all updates.

Now click on the Check for Problems button and the scan will start. Any Red entries indicate spyware problems that should be fixed to avoid security and/or privacy problems. This is the only kind of problem that is preselected to be fixed. If, after running the scan, Spybot displays red entries, click on the Fix Selected Problems button.

Now click on the Immunize button to protect your PC from known pests and exit.

If you have chosen to install an icon in your Quick Launch bar, Spybot will launch in Advanced Mode. I do not recommend this option for first time users of Spybot.

NOTE: SSD will sometimes not be able to remove all active components in the first 'run'. In that case you will get a dialog asking you to run SSD at next start. Click yes and reboot.
SSD will activate before the system puts these components 'in use', and it will then be able to 'fix' the rest.

Post a new Hijack This log.

Spy Bot may have got it, but will not hurt to check.

Do you have Gator in "Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs"

If so try uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs. http://scumware.com/user5.html

Smile Looked

Goodafternoon,I did look in the add/remove programs, under find, but no Gator only hit I got was,Navigatorc:\program files\Netscape\chrome. Now I do have norton system works, and when I do a search there,no Gator, but I do see the Bouncer thing in there alot, I remove those but they come back, after use of the puter, they are mainly temp files, which I purge often sometimes two to three times a day, as I have a 16 yr old daughter, enough said there,Now she did use Kazaa or whatever that is alot, I had her remove all music and that program, about two weeks ago.I also used the *.tmp and *.chk in find, after seeing someone post about it, I did that last night, there was alot of stuff in there I deleted, even after going to temp internet file in C,why is that I wonder, gee's I wish there was a way to copy and paste all the stuff norton pulls up on search so you can see, is there?smile......well I will keep an eye open for responses Thanx Diana
