Hi
I wanted to buy a wireless LAN MODEM which would use the 802.11b protocol. I would like to subscribe to 64 kbps service from the local ISP. I checked out some devices and found
VIP110-24, i read the brochure, it does not seem to work below 1 Mbps.
i also have a problem of line of sight, the ISP is pretty far away, and the topography is not user friendly.

Could someones suggest a good wireless LAN MODEM which would work well in non Line of Sight conditions.
Regards

From your post it seems you want a wireless internet connection hooked up to a LAN. These are two seperate things. First, you need to contact the ISP to see if their service will work for you.

The second half would be to get a wireless router so you can use the connection on more than one computer at home. You could then sit in one room with a wireless laptop and have a desktop hooked up too.

The device you were looking at is most likely a router. When it says it will not work at less than 1 Mps, it merely means your LAN connection will never drop below that speed. Those specifications are independent of internet access.

Hope that helps!
