Hi,
I have been using Windows 98 as one of my O.S. ( I have Windows XP installed on the other drive). I'm using Internet Explorer 6 to browse the Net. Since a last few days I have started getting a problem while browsing. If I try to open a link from some website, it does not open the page but a blank window opens and nothing happens(The address bar remains blank). This problem does not occur in Windows XP where I use the same version of Internet Explorer. Please help me solve this problem

Hi Nitin,
Give this a try:

Go to Start>Run and key in the following, one at a time, hitting ENTER after each command:
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 comcat.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdoc401.dll

After each command is run, you should see a dialogue box stating that it was successful.......click on OK and move on to the next command.

If this doesn't solve the problem, you could try extracting the Oleaut32.dll file from the install CD:

Put the install CD in the drive, and then go to Start>Run and key in SFC then click on OK. Click in the radio button beside "Extract one file". Key in the filename of the file that you want to extract (Oleaut32.dll), then click on Start. In the "Restore from" field, key in X:\WIN98 (you'd replace the X with the drive letter for your CDROM drive). In the "Save File In" field, key in C:\Windows\System
You'll be prompted to create a backup of the file.......note the path to where the Backup is, then click on OK. You'll then see a message regarding the file having been successfully extracted.....click on OK and then restart your computer.
