Network printer causes xp to crash

We have a NOVELL server and we are also using a Lanier multifuctional copier, fax, printer networked. The users have Dells with WINDOWS XP Profeesional and the MS Office installed on their systems is XP PRO.

When they attempts to save an Excell spreadsheet to the network and if they have the printer default as the Lanier the XP progrqam crashes.

They can only save spreadsheets if they makesure to change the printer before saving.

Any ideas?
