Hello I would like to know if there is anyone out there that has any Idea or suggestions for a Laptop my dad had for 3 years that he never used once. however it does not turn on. it powers on but there is nothing on the monitor. nor can I open the dvd drive. by the way the os is 98

If it was never used or plugged in to AC power in 3 years, the battery is probably dead and no longer capable of being charged. Check your manual first, but you may be able to get it working by removing the battery completely and then connecting it to AC power. If it won't (or shouldn't) be run without the battery installed, you may need to get a new one before you can get it to power up.
