Unhappy Ad-Ware 6.0

Hi to all,

I'm new here and I have to say what a great site. I 've been browsing around and you guys seem really cool about answering peoples problems.

So here is mine

I have an old 200 CPU
3.0 gigs HD
80 Ram
CD and 3.5

Real screamer huh.

Anyway I downloaded Ad-Ware from your site to fix some stupid ad that always pops - up on me and it gets to finding 169 new objects which is broken down as follows then it stops running. I've booted fresh and tried running it then gone as far as shutting down the clock and monitor icons on the taskbar so nothing is running as far as I know.

1 processes indentified
43 registrys keys indentified
38 registrys values indentified
87 files found
0 folders found

Current operation says it is deep cleaning drive C and has about 6 bars of progress showing.

BTW I have 2 drives that are partioned off 2 Gig on C and 1 Gig on D.

And also it has scanned 24974 files. One time it has gotten as far as 60000 something files. I played around with it last night and it more or less comes to this same operation and stops. It did at on point find about the same processes as above but also found 5 folders.

I was wondering if it is just maybe it is hitting max allotment for ID' ing stuff or if I need to do something else to help it along it's way.

Well hopefully someone has an answer and thanks for a cool site.

Hi AL777 - welcome to CTH. Ad-Aware 6 was not tested with Win95 but may run on some versions. See the FAQ. Give Spybot a try. Spybot should be fine if you have updated your browser and winsock. See here.
