windows system registry error

hello,

Recently I've been having a problem, every time I restart my computer a message pops up that says
"Windows Encountered an error accessing the system registry. Windows will restart and repair the system registry for you"
When I press okay it restarts the computer to the blue screen and goes throught to aobut 14% and then says that it has fixed the error. When it comes back i find alot of stuff that i loaded within the last 2 weeks is gone. I load everything and then a about 1 day later everything happens again. Please Help! Thanks so Much!

Hi,
Registry Checker Continues to Detect Registry Damage (Q186909)

A reboot into Safe Mode will cause Himem.sys to check ram.
Hit the 'Escape' key to remove the Windows logo during boot to see if Himem detects bad ram.

Also , check for free disk space.

Do a FIND for 386.swp, and when found, right-click on it and check that there are no 'Read Only' attributes assigned.

How much ram do you have.
How much free disk space do you have.
How old is your ram.

If Mike's suggestions don't help, it will assist us greatly to know exactly what you are loading.
You can try a bit of self-diagnosis by re-installing one item at a time, waiting a couple of days between each install to make sure system is stable - when you load the item that causes the problem you will be able to easily pin-point it.
