Start-up problem

Here's my problem...

Windows will not start. I started in safe mode, and then restarted in diagnostic mode and i was able to start when i opted not to run autoexec.bat and config.sys.
I guess i need to know what my autoexec and config.sys files should look like, and what i need to do to start normally.
thanks!

These two files, autoexec and config.sys, are machine specific. Meaning they are only specific to your machine. Mine may look completely different than your does.

It would be best if you posted what the contents of these two files are so that we might help you more.

Windows does not need those two files to operate, but some programs running in Windows require them to properly set the environment. Post the the contents anyway, but I would bet that something you have installed or uninstalled(and modified either or both of these files) is the real cause.
