compressor driver

Trying to reinstall Win 95, have to use a start up disk. The 95 boot disk gives a errors message disk, replace and hit any key. When I put the boot disk for win 98 it says compressor driver cannot be found and I get the A: prompt to type in command interpreter. Just not sure what that means.
Trying to save money and do this myself. Any help would be great.

Hi
I can think of two possibilities.
1. Both of your boot disks are bad
2. Your Floppy drive is not working properl - try cleaning it with a Cleaner disk

hi

I sure hope you do not need the data currently on this hard drive...

DOS6.x double space and win 95 drivespace was nightmares...

I only remember they was nightmares
if you still need data currently on that disk, be patient... some gentlebeing may remember HOW TO DO THIS

==========

now, if this drive can be wiped clean, we can do it fast and dirty...
you would a good booter with cdrom support
a fast wipe tool (like wipeout or zap) could be copied to it
for wipeout...
http://www.lurkhere.com/~nicefiles/index.html
unzip it.. put the unzipped file on floppy, after booting from this floppy run wipeout C: /np /nq
it takes a millisecond, and things are gone...

zap? it's too long ago I used it... http://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/hddtech/zap.exe

after wipeout, again boot from it
and then you fdisk
and after a reboot, you format...
and after another reboot you are ready to run setup
