I just downloaded another update and again the icon was put in my system tray. It was a 9 min download (forgot which one) Again I went in through run and msconfig startup and deleted it the icon is now gone in my system tray. U went back in and the item is completely gone.
My ? is did I delete what I just downloaded ir is it somewhere on my computer?

perplexed,
The answer is no. When you uncheck programs in msconfig all that you are doing is removing them from startup. The programs that you unchecked are still there, you just have to manually open them as opposed to having them opened when you boot the machine.

I kinda thought so I just needed some reassurance that I did it right. This is a great board because those of us who come here are not judged if we ask stupid questions.
I thank you. :)

I tried to warn you about this earlier:
www.cybertechhelp.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=000511 (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=000511)
This is the confusion which is a result of not keeping the same thread. We lose all the other backround information. Post all the questions you wish, stupid or not, however try to keep them all within the same thread (topic).

See that you do that, or else.
Or else you will make me cry, and I hate to see a grown man cry, especially when it is me. ;)
Just a weak attempt at a little humour to lighten things up a bit.
  ;)
