I need some guidance on setting up a home network. This is what i have done so far. I have three computers and a wireless router. Two of the computers are directly connected to the router and the other is is gaining access wireless-ly. The router is is connected to a cable modem. All of the computers can get on the internet and each of the computers can ping each of the other computers. I like to be able to share files between the computers using Network Neighborhood...but that is where i am stuck. Please Help. Thanks.

First off what OS are you using? To share files you have to make sure that file/print sharing is installed (windows xp/2000). Right click network neighborhood, properties, right click on your LAN connection and choose properties, if file/print sharing is installed it will be shown here. To share a file you simply right click the file and choose sharing, click share this file, then you can leave the share name the same or change it. To have the computers access the shared folder/file you will have to map the drive or create a login script

A login script and maping a network drive are just 2 different ways to get the same thing done. I just map all my network drives so I'll tell you how to do that. Open My Computer and under tools choose map network drive. You then browse accross your network to a share that you want to map and choose a drive letter. Make sure that the "reconnect at logon" box is checked. So now whenever that user logs on the drive will be present. So basically you now have a drive letter assigned to a folder. The login script is a way to centrally assign a share to be mapped at during login. You could save time by assigning a login script to multiple users instead of logging into each user to map a drive however you would have to go to each user and specify where the script was located so I just recomend mapping the drive.
