Floppy Drive Problem

I just installed Win98 on a laptop & I now get an error when trying to use the floppy drive.

Everytime I try to access the drive it tells me that the disk needs to be formatted? I've tried 10 different disks, all with the same error. All disks have previously been formatted & are full with info.

Any ideas?

Normally means floppy drive is dirty or dying or Windows thinks it's something it's not.
Check and make sure it thinks it's a 3.5" not a 5.25" drive.
Delete it from device manager and restart. Let windows reload it.
(btw I wonder does that mean you don't need my answer to the post in W95 forum - that's me day late and dollar short!).
