Many Problems

Hello,

I was working on a friend's pc.
She has win Me. She started having problems a week ago.
She keeps getting several error messages.
when booting into windows desktop, it shows a run32.dll error
then it said that windows update had file :mstime.dll error

then it keeps giving the kernal32.dll error.
If you try to use her printer, it gives the spooler error and locks up.
If I try to set her video to SGVA res., it will not take and it stays on generic vga 640X480. (but the video driver reports no problem).
I tried and tried to get it to go to the 800 X 600.

It also gives a IEXPLORER HAS CAUSE AN ERROR AND WINDOWS MUST BE RESTARTED.

I ran virus scan. It was ok.
Is the registery corrup??

I tried to restore at an eariler date.
It only showed me a week to backup.
I need to go back 2 weeks or more to be safe.

Does anyone know what I should do?
The pc will not even shut down either. It will show black screen and lockup if you try to shut down.

The pc acts like the exorsist.!!!
I think that she has downloaded a lot of bad stuff off the internet.

I would like to format c and reinstall OS from scratch!!!
Anybody agree?

First I would open the case and verify all fans are working and ensure all components are fully seated. Still have problems, backup what you want and can, then reformat and reload.
