I am attempting to load Win98 SE on a computer that had a version of Win98 on it already. It was whipped clean and now has no OP on it at all. When I try to boot with the 98se bootdisk it will tell me non system disk or disk error. It reads A drive but won't load the information. I have gone to bootdisk.com to copy the boot disk information. If I take the disk out and continue I get a screen that gives me some of the computer information like there is a cd rom drive and certain things have been checked. At the bottom of that I get the c prompt. However, it won't let me do anything like fdisk, format, or any of the things I can do in the dos prompt. I really need to get 98 loaded on this computer so any help will be greatly appreciated. I have gone everywhere looking for information on this problem. Hi DLuttrell,
If the startup disk that you're trying to use is one that you d/loaded from bootdisk.com, did you happen to d/load the file directly to the floppy disk? If so, this doesn't create the startup floppy disk.......what you need to do is d/load the file to hard drive, then put a formatted floppy disk in the drive and double-click on the d/loaded file in order to create the startup floppy disk.

Also, ensure that the boot order in BIOS setup is set to try booting from floppy drive before hard drive.
