missing items !!!!

Hiya everyone,
I have noticed that when i go into control panel,non of my folders are there..ie add/remove progs etc...also i use pcpitstop to check my computer every now again and it keeps saying that Activex and script is not set properly.So from this i do as it says to rectify prob but hence no change.
This may have come about when i placed windows xp on my computer and then removed it as many items where not working.Also when i try to go to the windows update page nothing happens,also nothing happens when i press on the download link on this forum. Could some one help with my dilemma..Many thanks in advance..............Flaggy

well abviously windows xp didn't quite install right, what os is on the comp right now?

Hiya,
well i would like to say that i have took xp off again and did a complete virus check !!!!.
What had happened is that when i put xp on my computer i acquired this worm,bug,virus thing.
So for the time being i will stay with ME........many thanks.........

if possible i would re install me
by that i mean fdisk and then clean install (theres a tutorial here i think)
