Hi I am having trouble getting a computer to boot properly. The error message states it cant find a current drive? or something to that effect. I tried using a bootdisk with dos commands however all of them cant find the drive. I am wondering if the hard drive went T-U? If you know what I mean jelly bean. I am about to take my fixit hammer and fix this hard drive please help.

You might disconnect and then reconnect the IDE cable and power supply to the hard drive. Also, try a different power cable and/or IDE channel or cable.

If you receive a "No fixed disks present" error message when you invoke FDISK from the A: prompt, this is usually a good indication that the hard drive has gone bad. You could also try using a new IDE (ribbon) cable and see if that's the culprit. |

hi
just to let you know CD\ C: is indeed a bad command but the error would probably say "too many parameters" or "syntax error" (i gotta translate things I see on screen...)
