partitioning question

Hi,

i tried to patition my hard drive earlier with 2 partitions
i used fdisk and made 2 partitions and then made the first one active
then i exited fdisk and formated drive c
that worked ok
then when i typed: format d (my other partition
it said "format not supported on drive, format terminated"

what does this mean?
how can i format my other partition?

between Fdisk and formating, you must first RESTART the system

are you sure you created the second partition?
you may have only created the extended partition, but not the logical drive.

what does the FDISK drive information state?

i did create the extended partition, and restarted in between too :)
but i forgot to make a logical dos partition in the extended lol
