Question Printer not printing black!

Probably should of posted this elsewhere but was unsure!
My problem is with my printer.
Epson stylus color 300.
It was part of a used package i bought privatly and i have had this problem since i got it.
It doesnt print black! all the colours are fine but the only time i can see black is a couple of plotter prints at the begining of the nozzle check.
I expect it has had it but if any one has any other ideas i would be v appricietive.

Hi buffyo - I guess you have tried replacing the ink cartridge. Are you using Epson cartridges or generic ones? If the latter, sometimes it takes several rounds of printer head cleaning to unclog the nozzles.

It sounds like you either have a dud cartridge or the nozzles are still blocked. The only way to find out is to go a few more rounds or to try another cartridge.

Awww, perhaps someone else will have a suggestion. I own an Epson 600 buffyo. I have had it for a few years but I did once get a bad Epson cartridge. I use the generic ones now and I have never had a problem with them (aside from having to clean the nozzles a bit more often but the cost saving is still justified).

I have had great success cleaning several Epson printers, using the methods here: http://www.inkjetart.com/tips/cleaning/
