Trouble shutting down one computer
I recently purchased a new computer, one with xp home edition. I moved my old computer downstairs, it is windows 98. I got the microsoft wireless networking hardware. I connected the base to my xp computer and the wireless device to my windows 98. I have been working bugs out of system but now have it set up pretty good, i can view my xp computer on my 98 system, and am working on figuring out how to view files from 98 system on my xp system. confusing, omg. However my problem now is that when i go to shutdown my 98 system it will not shut down, It goes to the windows is shutting down screen and stays there?? also when i go to stand by on it, it goes to standby , but will not reactivate when i want it? not sure if it has to do with networking? or some of my settings?

I think your windows 98 computer is just freezing at the shutdown screen not due to your networking. I know this because its happened to me all the time when my comp wasn't even networked. |

There is a microsoft patch that addresses a windows 98 issue with shutting down. You might want to try it if you haven't already installed it. As for the not waking up, I haven't a clue.
