How do I get ME to hook up to my cable connection? I just plugged my daughter's e-mach Cel-733 into our office network as a spare workstation temporarily ...it hasn't been run for awhile and I want to update the OS - Norton etc. Although all the other Computers on the network "see" it and it "see's' them I can't get IE to hook up. I've tried the ICWizard - LAN - AutoDetect ... which works on all the other workstations (all run Win2000)... All I get with ME machine is DNS error - page not found.

What do i need to Do?

Check the network settings on a PC that has Internet access and set the ME PC to use the same (or similar, if static IP addresses are used) settings. Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network, then select the TCP/IP properties for the network card. (If there is no TCP/IP entry, you will need to add the TCP/IP protocol first.) If the ME PC is set for 'Obtain IP address automatically' and that is the correct setting for your office network, fine. Otherwise, you will have to assign anIP address to the ME PC that is in the same range (but not the same as) the PC's in your office network.
