i need help... my mother board has no more room for a cable modem card ,so i tried to hook it up thru the usb port but my computer is not reconzing the com 21 modem ..the usb port is working correctly because my mouse is hooked up to it..i talked to the cable company tech and she said that win 98 se is uncomptable with cable modem usb hook up .. is this true or can you help me fiqure this problem out?i have my other computer hooked up to the cable modem card but this computer is slow.. maybe i could connect the 2 computers together with this one cable modem?is this possible?please help..

the modem should have a driver disk which will make the USB connection into a Network connection.

if there is no 98 driver then there's not much you can do.

If you search google then there may be a compatible driver from another company.

Check the installation CD which came with the medem/ Road Runner gave me the drivers and the option to go USB.
