Hi-please help if you can would be most grateful.

Just brought a new computer running windows98.

Keeps crashing at certain times: a) running SAGE accountancy

b) Using Word-typing and it crashed.

Not just a minor crash, but have to turn off for at least 10 minutes else no way of getting desktop back-computer tries to reboot but fails and screen goes blank.

Last two messages:

'a fatal exception error OE has occured at 0028:C1620A77. The current application will be terminated.

'a fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:800074FE in VxD--- This was called from 0028:800074FE in VXD

Is there anything I can do to stop this happening and correct the problem

Cheers

Majic

Look here (http://aumha.org/win4/kberrmsg.htm) and see if your error is listed

This (http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/vxd.htm) is the only other bit of info I could find. I know you will find answers here (http://www.techsupportguy.org/).

If and when you get over to TSG and do not use the same nick, please pm or e-mail brindle (that's me) and let me know if your problem was resolved.

There are a lot of suggestions for troubleshooting fatal exception errors on this page (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000223.htm).
