I changed the pixels(whatever that is)in the display part of control panel and when I try to change it I can't see the bottom of the window because it is too big. It won't move up. HELP!! My computer screen is totally screwed.

Well first off if you cannot get back into the toolbox to set back the pixels (resolution), boot in to Safe Mode (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/tutorials/tutorial.php/id/24) and then go into the control panel and set it (you may not have all the options but just choose one) and then restart the computer into normal mode and you should be able to set back the resolution.

Did you try the buttons on your monitor to resize and move the screen?

I am very computer illiterate. I'm horrified of safe mode and haven't a clue on what to do. As for monitor adjustments, if I change them will I be able to get back to the settings in the control panel and fix my screw up?

Why not try system restore? If you haven't used it before....just choose a date in bold to restore to....to a time before you screwed up...that should sort it :)

Safe mode is not to be afraid of...all it does is if you follow that link I posted above to instructions and follow them it will turn on your computer so it looks all funky...but it will work and everything will be on your screen. There you should be able to undo what you did and then just restart the computer normally and it will take you right back where you want it...if not it can be undone...all it is doing is setting a few settings back to default.

I assume you are using a different computer to post on these boards so if you run into a problem just post here and we will walk you out of it.

Or a system restore will also work...do you know how to do that? (this may cause you to have to reinstall some programs if you installed them after the date you restored it to)
