I have the D-Link DI-604 router. About a month and a half ago, my internet wasnt working, cuz apparently my ISP changed their DNS address. Anyways, I coulndt change that with the Firmware the router was using. So I upgraded the Firmware software to the most current version. Since then, the past month and a half, when my computer, and my family's computer are hooked up to the router, it keeps rebooting. Sometimes it stays online for like 5-10 min, sometimes it reboots every min. Its extremely annoying. I've found that other people were having this issue, but I don't know how to fix it. Every time I try and put a older version of the Firmware on, it reboots. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In the admin control panel of the DI-604, try turning off the UPNP feature. Go to the TOOLS tab, click the MISCELLANEOUS button and set the UPNP to DISABLED.

NOPE. Didnt work, I changed it to disabled, and it seemed to work, for awhile. Then REBOOT :( kept doing it. Its so annoying. Maybe I'll just go buy a new one, kinda a waste of money though, just for a settings issue. If anyone has any more ideas, or knows how to fix this problem, or where I can find out, or the number for dlink support, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

This might sound like a silly question, but does the router box get enough cooling airflow? Is it restricted in open area around it?
If left to overheat, the device may be locking up and restarting to protect itself. Feel the box, specifically on the bottom if it is hot, put some rubber sticky pads on the bottom four corners of the device to elevate it and get some air moving under it for one.
I have used two of these models in the past at the same time and noted the bottoms got a bit warm and locked up several times a month, possibly due to that, until I elevated them up off the surface they sat on.

I have not tried that. I do know that it does get quite warm. I also noticed that if I am only in one browser, casually surfing, it stays connected. But if I start running different internet apps in many windows, it seems like its overloading, and rebooting. I will try keeping it cool and see what kind of results I get. But please, keep the help coming :D

AHHHHHHH hell, ok, so I kept messin around with the router, same problem. I even put it in the freezer for 5 min to cool it down. Same damn thing. I called dlink tech support, but i live in canada, so they made me call the canada number, but i keep gettin a busy signal, so i called back the other number, and then they hung up on me. I was on the phone for over 1.5 hrs :( not happy. Every time I try and install a different version of firmware, it reboots, and wont install. It will be online and fine for a couple mins, but as soon as I try updating it, it reboots. I am running out of ideas and options, I think I may just throw it up against a wall, or hammer the **** out of it. Or maybe sell it and buy a new one. I could still use help.
