Easy Cd Creator, Roxio problem

Actually I am not positive what my problem is. (All I know is right now I'd rather throw my cd burner out the window and stomp on it). I cant use it and I dont know why. When I start up Roxio Project Selector or Cd Creator basic 5 and click on make a music cd(or any "make a cd") I get an error message that says: "Cannot create Creator! error returned 0x80040154" and the program doesnt start. Does anyone know what is my problem?

If you have Windows XP this might cure it.

For good measure you might want to update/install your ASPI layer.

"Many people don't realize however, that the files contained in an ASPI layer are also used in systems that *don't* contain a SCSI adapter, or SCSI devices .. for things such as ripping CD audio and burning CD/DVDs, which is why you'll find ASPI-related files and info posted at sites such as FireBurner, CDRWin, Nero, Feurio, and Doom9..."

"Update 02apr2003 - I have gone back to v4.60 in WinXP because neither of my two favorite CD audio rippers [EAC & CDex] work with v4.71.2. They both lock up (not responding). I'm not sure why. Soon as I installed v4.60 however [via ForceASPI], they both worked flawlessly again...."

More here:

But really read both pages through before doing this.

A freind of mine mentioned that ROXIO and Easy CD creator do not like to be on the same machine. I have both on different machines. I've grown to prefer Roxio.

You could go to control panel, Add/remove programs and remove all instances of the two programs. Reboot.
Presuming you have a working version of Roxio or Easy CD install only one. reboot. Go to the website and get the latest upgrade for your product. Install and reboot.
