Not sure if this is the correct forum. I have posted this problem on another forum and have received little assistance. I am getting run time errors on my wife's puter, a 98 SE box with office 2000 on it.

I believe that there is a problem with the vbs code in the macros in the "Normal" template???? In any event I have managed to change the errors reported but not eliminate them. Any help with this will be sincerely appreciated.

Hi b1kra - have you tried shutting down Word and deleting normal.dot? When you restart Word, a new normal.dot will be created.

If that doesnt help, try Word's Detect and Repair feature (in the Help Menu). Have your installation CD's handy as you may be prompted for them.

Well, removing the Normal template did not work, and the e machine did not come with a win98SE disk although I have both a upgrade disc and a full install disk, but non were used for this machine.

The message is as follows:

MS Visual Basic
Run Time Error '13':

Type Mismatch

What does this mean? and How would I fix it?

Hi Again, Problem solved - was a defective software generated macro? Office In Color - removed all instances of OIC and problem went away Will check the registry for instances next as excell still has an option for the OIC toolbar???

I haven't been able to find were OIC app is still on the HDD and accesses by Excell? oh well, the problem is solved - the wife does not use the OIC tool bar anyway so if I can remove it fine, if not just uncheck it and it goes away, just the principal I guess.
