No text on buttons

Hi !

On my friends computer something odd has happened. The text has dissappeared on all buttons. He says, suddenly the computer freezed while on Internet. He couldn't shut it down the normal way, and when he turned it on again this error happened. He can navigate as usual whith the mouse.

Have you ever seen something like this?

What is he to do to solve this?

Does it happen in Safe Mode (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/tutorials/tutorial.php/id/24) also? If it doesn't try restarting the computer normally after going into Safe Mode.

We will try your suggestion. I will meet my friend next monday. I will let you know if it works.

But before trying whith Safe Mode, do someone else have any more suggestions or some interesting information about this peculiar behavior?

Right click desktop, select "properties" (last one on list in case you can't read that list either), select "Appearance" tab (should be the third tab from the left).
in "scheme" dropdown, set scheme to "Windows standard" and click "Apply" (bottom right button).
If that doesn't fix it, select 3D objects from "item" list and change font colour to black and click apply.

My friend phoned me today and told me he has fixed the problem. I hadn't time to ask him how, but I will ask him on Monday when I meet him.

Hi again !

Now I know the solution. My friend told me he made changes in the Scheme, just as Smurfy did suggest. That solved hid problem. The text came back on his buttons.
