Unhappy DirectX problems. Please help!!

I have my PC set up for audio production use and have just purchased a very powerful sampler, GigaStudio 2.5. It seems that this is having a conflict with Cubase SX. and so the two will not run together. I know it is not a hardware problem as my soundcard has an option to run both the asio and gsif drivers together and is reconmended by both software developers as a card capable of handling both. I have an AMD 2400XP+ and 1Gb RAM so I know its not a problem them draining system resources.

I have looked at a couple of tech support forums for the software and there have been many suggestions that DirectX 9 is the cause of most conflicts. It seems that when I run DirectX Diagnostic tool my version is 4.09.00.0900.

Am I just being stupid or is this version 4 or version 9. I have tried to re-install version 8.0a and 8.1b but these do nothing. If I do have version 9 is there any way I can roll-back the version to 8.1b (the most compatible appartnly for this software)

Hi dave_c271 - welcome to CTH. I see that you have already posted this topic in the WinXP Forum so I'm closing this one. Two identical topics are very confusing for members to follow.
