I have a Compaq Presario; last night while I was typing an email to a friend all of a sudden I started getting letters and symbols other than what I ws typing.I hit h and got 3 other letters and even the delete key gives me letters. I tried rebooting,I disconnected and reconnected the keyboard, turned off all the power-nothing. I can't get on line cause when I type my password it gives something else entirely,so I can't go to any online tech support sites for my computer.Right now I'm at the library of a university in my town. Can someone please help me.I am not literate at all in the technical aspects of computers so if someone can give me step by step help it would be great. My internet service provider is AOL in case that info is helpful. My email address is YankeeFan262@aol.com-I'll be able to get into it at work tomorrow if you prefer to email a solution to my problem.
I will be eternally grateful for any help!
PS- My goofy kitten Timmy may have walked on the keyboard-could he have pushed a button that caused this?

I've fought off a cat on my keyboard, but that evil carivoure, (why haven't they been outlawed? They eat living things.), did not cause a problem. Might be the keyboard is bonkers and can be replaced cheaply. Borrow or buy one and see what happens.
Try that first and post a response. That doesn't work, maybe a serious virus.
