disable error reporting

Hi....I've finally had enough of IE6 crashing and the error report...It never sends a report anyway...all It does is freezes my system

I've had a search around on this site and others....Is this the correct way to disable it and get a windows error instead?

Start Registry Editor.
Locate and click the following key in the registry:
HKey_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\internet explorer\main

On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: IEWatsonEnabled
Data type: DWORD
Value data: 0

Quit Registry Editor.

Thanks in advance

Try the following

Open Control Panel
Click on Performance and Maintenance.
Click on System.
Then click on the Advanced tab
Click on the error-reporting button on the bottom of the windows.
Select Disable error reporting.
Click OK
Click OK

Skip the performance and maintenance and go to the next step - system.

Open the control panel then open sytem, and select the advanced tab. near the bottom, click the Error Reporting button. click disable but select notify when critical errors occur

That is what I get for not having winme - and doing a search in google for the answer :-( Sorry

I give up...three different websites basically the very same info but I am wondering if they are confused with WinXP.

Did you try WinME help? I did a search and came up with it for WinXP using disable error reporting as keywords. I do not know if the same type of search will work for WinME .

Anyway - sorry about wasting your time.

I can move the thread to the ME forum if you like? See if anyone there can give an opinion?
