Direct 3 D Device
I am having problems with the Direct X ---at least, I think this is what is causing the problem. I can not get a text message to be a screensaver & one of my games will not work. I tested the Direct X & it came up saying "Test failed at step 8 (Creating 3 D Device) HResult=0X887602EB (error code). When I tried to run the game, it came up saying "unknown DD Error. Can someone please help me? I'd appreciate any help, walking me through any of this. Thank You !

try reinstalling your v/card drivers if still no joy try reinstalling dx
do you have nvida there was an issue with the detonator drivers i'll see if i can refind the article but im sure those were the two remedies i used

Direct D Device
Thanks for your help on this. I was afraid it was the driver so have called a computer tech & have it go over it on Mon. I had tried to re-install the Direct X & that didn't solve the problem. He had just went over everything & it had all set up for me & this happened so I'll let him work it out.
