I am trying to hear songs off a site, I have had no problems but for 2 days now when I try to play songs I have added to my media player or straight from the site it just stops on me or cuts out.
I have scanned for a virus and none is present.
What could be the problem? Much thanks!!

If you dont mind me asking. What site is this?
It could be a problem in the site itself and not your PC. Have you tried other sites to see if it done the same thing.
ALso, have you installed or uninstalled anything prior to this. If so then it could have corrupted your Media player.
Try running Scandisk, Defrag and empty your Cookies, temporary internet files, and History files.

I was told to do the following and it seemed to work, don't know if it was a coincidence or not. The site is http://blueeyes.topcities.com/tropicalsunset.html
The song is coming in slower than media player likes what you need to do is when you load the song let it load and as it's playing try pulling the bar back, let the song play a bit like 30 sec. then pull it back to restart the song over so that your system can download it and play it in fully.
thanks so much for the input!!

Thats a pretty nice site.. I would say that it is in your ISP. I just tried it, when it asked if I wanted to downl, I put download from its current location and it worked perfect.....

Dodge why did it ask you to download, you must have the older media player, the 7.0 just pops on when I click play?
Yes the site is good glad you enjoyed it and thanks again. ;)

Hi perplexed,
This sounds like a buffer issue. The media player will not start playing until a certain percentage of the file is stored. This is buffering. It is supposed to prevent exactly what you are getting with this music. Starting then stopping. However in cases of really slow servers, the player hasn't stored enough data before it starts playing. By moving the slider back to the beginning, you are compensating for this buffer underrun of sorts. If this is only happening with a site or two, I wouldn't worry too much. The problem is on their side. However, if it is happening on many sites and making life difficult, there is a setting in the player I believe that you can manually set the buffer size. You would want to set it so the song waits longer to play and stores up more data. Not sure exactly where this setting is in 7.0, though.

Also if this is just a recent development, I would blame the net congestion for slow downloads and buffer trouble. The Code Red bug is making it's rounds and clogging servers.

This is too strange, I am trying to play the first song in my media library and when I click on it and it starts connecting it drops down to the last song on the list. It does this with every song I click on.What could be causing this?
Thanks so much! :(
