formatting hard disk using boot disk..please help!

I can't seem to format a hard disc, I've set the partition using Fdisk...the boot disk I'm using has an application called "Format.com" when entering "Format" at the prompt, I'm told I have a parameter missing. Entering C (the HDD) as the parameter brings back a messgae saying that it is an incorrect parameter.

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Ok, now I feel really stupid. It was simply that I missed the : from format C: .......


oh dear. It's always the way isn't it.
