Angry MEWin Again, NOT?...

Has anyone had WinME refuse to restore to an earlier point? This machine boots fine and works well except when trying to connect to the Internet. Error message "server not found". I tried several URL's, got the same message... BTW- Compaq 'puter w/NIC card. Should I just try and use the restore disc? Got another machine that uses XP, haven't had any problems- even 98SE seemed more stable! As always, thanks to any who answer for your knowledge and valuable time!

P.S.: Thanks for the 411, Greta P.- My friend DID end up with a new machine, as I suggested!

Thanks,

Jeff

I'm using the NIC that came with the computer plugged into the cable modem. It tries to connect before showing a small box saying "connection failed".
