Hi Jonette,

Just want to jump in here before the mad rush of Emachine bashers. In my opinion, they are no better or worse than any other off-the-shelf PC. Including Compaq and HP. I had an Emachine 400id that ran like a top for two years until I tried to upgrade the video from onboard ATI to TNT2 PCI. Then came what I refer to as "The Sad Times". Not even VDR's Herculean efforts could save my poor Emachine.

So what went wrong...I still don't know. But I have no reason to believe that it was the Emachine at fault. Just one person's experience.

I'm going to open the door and let the Emachine bashers in now...LOL.

EDIT: I should point out that Emachine's tech support is pretty much non-existant, though. You are kinda on your own with them, but they are easy on the pocketbook anyway.
