From Time To Time...

I've been known to do the cooking in this household, attached is the recipe I'm cooking right now, smells sooooooo YUMMY!!!

LOL, I have it on high heat, only 6 hours, just takes a while to prepare!!

I tell ya, it was soooooo YUMMY, 'specially when washed down with a beer!!!

If you do try it, may I suggest stirring it ever so often, and if say an hour before the time is up for cooking, it looks rather runny, add some more flour, maybe just a tablespoon full, then stir that in, to thicken it up!!!

Cool!!!

I've heard that some folks put beer (well, Guiness or Mackeson) into these kinda recipes.............SHEESH, such a waste, yer s'posed to drink the beer while making the meal..........hmmmmmmmm, a 6 to 12 hours cooking time, heck, that's a lot of beer drinking!!

Oh no way! I wouldnt waste the beer I pinched from yer stash on a stew Dave (I might improvise with some of my husbands red wine though ).

I am pleased to report that the stew was every bit as yummy as you said Dave (and no ill effects afterwards dohray)

I had a minor problem though. I'm used to metrics and I didnt have my glasses on when I read your recipe Dave so I ended up with enough stew to feed an army. Luckily, I realised halfway though and chucked in some extra seasoning etc. I also made some caraway dumplings to go with it (my "once a year" cullinary effort lol)...delicious
