I recently reformatted the hard drive and did a fresh install of WIN 98SE on my laptop. It was working very well. In the last few days it has slowed considerably. I hear the hard drive chattering for a longer than normal time at startup. At the same time I am experiencing many mail messages that I did not send returned as unsendable. What is going on?

The two problems may be unrelated, but the first thing I would do is scan for viruses/trojans using the latest update to your antivirus software.

The email problems may be related to the swen virus that running wild again. You can pick up the removal tool and run it.
