HP computer users I have monitor ?????

I have an 4 year old Hp desktop 6553 and my monitor seems to be
getting darker so I assume it is going out. Do I have to get another Hp monitor or can I go with another brand???? Wiull it be compatible???

I want a flat screen(Is that the right term) the kind that is thin and saves space. I also am looking for a good deal on one with a rebate if possible.

you should be able to use any plug and play monitor
the best flat screens are digital but i doubt you have a digital output on you graphics card so make sure you get on that has an analouge lead (the normal one that fits onto the blue bit at the back)

Any monitor will work. It doesn't have to be an HP. Do make sure that you do as 30111987 says. I'm not sure if an LCD Monitor will work properly with that HP or not.

But, if your going to the expense of getting that kind of monitor it may be worth the extra money to get a new video if you have to.

BTW, nice computer. The only Model HP I would recomend for anyone. Wish I still had mine.
