Have you tried one of these bootdisk Here (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm)

Download the file double click on it and extract to a clean floppy. then boot with it.

hi

it ought to be on the win98 bootdisks at bootdisk.com

if you are looking for a small downloadable file
one can get it at microsoft itself
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/mslfiles/MSCDX223.EXE
run it to inflate it (the one in windows 98 is newer, tho)

Gigabyte, how did you make the bootdisk? Did you RUN the downloaded file or just copy it to the floppy? A W95 Startup Disk won't have the CD-ROM options but the W98 one will - if made properly.

How old is the CD Drive? The early ones used different drivers and you needed additional parameters to set them up through their Interface Card or Sound Card.
