WMP integration in IE

.....was checking my HOTMAIL and had a" .wav file" attachement I clicked on to download. IE then opened an informational box offering to open this file within IE using WMP (like clicking on MEDIA button in toolbar to open the MEDIA sidebar in IE's current view)....in that box was a checkbox to select to "always use this option" and this was PRESELECTED for me by default.

Ultimately, in trying to play this file in WMP I was given the following error:

I could find nothing in the MS KB for this error. I would like to "de-select" the option for IE to always use WMP to open .wav files within IE when trying to open files like this. I searched the INTERNET OPTIONS in IE but couldn't find anything that would do so.

Anybody know where this option is located so I can go there and de-select this function?

Internet Options - Advanced Tab

The option is towards the bottom and it says "Don't display online media content in the media bar "
