Unhappy Runtime errors in windows 2000

Please help!? I keep getting runtime errors when visiting some web pages, including this one, asking me if I want to debug. It usually says Line 1 invalid character. How can I stop this, it is VERY annoying.

Please see this Thread as it addresses basically the same problem.

W2K Runtime errors are sometimes the same as Java in Windows 98.

If this doesn't help, post back.

I tried to reduce my colors and that did not help. My Java was turned on also. Any other idea?

if however it isn't an upgrade problem and you simply wish to get rid of the notification errors, try this;

go into internet explorer > TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > click on the ADVANCED tab > scroll down and under the BROWSING make sure 'display a notification on every script error' is UNTICKED.

your also going to be doing yourself a favour disabling 'SCRIPT DEBUGGING'

hope this helps.

Hey, this might sound like a dumb question, but here it goes... "What browser or browser version are u using?" If it is an older version then update it!

Internet Explorer, Netscape Nav, etc

If nothing else helps then "update IE" in Windows OS. Internet Explorer is integrated with your OS.

Goto "Add/Remove" section in Control Panel within the System folder, then Reboot. Have your OS CD available in case it asks to insert it.

Hope this helps!

My bad- Sorry, not the System folder. Goto the Control Panel thru Start button then Settings. Click on Add/Remove programs folder. Then select Microsoft IE in the list. Click on ADD/REMOVE. It will prompt you to update IE. Have your CD ready!
